We are a group of friends, born and raised in the wild coves of Cap de Creus, who in 2021 decided to turn our lives around to create a unique project. Touched by the Tramuntana and with great energy, our goal is to sail and showcase the beauty of the Cap de Creus coast, combining it with important ecological and environmental tasks.

2021
Eco Xiri Mar d'Amunt
The Eco Xiri Mar d'Amunt was born in 2021 from the hands of some young entrepreneurs who decided to transform a Menorcan llaüt, the "Valkiria" (1973), into a floating bar. This adventure began in Menorca and led the Valkiria to Port de la Selva and, finally, to its base in Llançà, where it started its new life sailing through the Catalan waters of Cap de Creus.
During the first weeks it went out to sail and explore the corners of Cap de Creus, it was watched with curiosity by the people who were strolling and enjoying the summer in the Mar d'Amunt.
Initially, the 'Valkiria' sparked curiosity among visitors, but it quickly gained popularity and the trust of all. Although it presented itself as Eco Xiri, most people began to know them as 'The Pirates'. -
2022 - 2023
Guardians of Cap de Creus
We are now accredited guides of the Cap de Creus Natural Park, both on land and at sea, and we participate in environmental tasks together with the park's team. We always strive to offer the highest quality in our services, which is why we train in everything we believe is beneficial for the region and all the visitors who come to us.
Due to unexpectedly high demand from the public, we decided to supplement our fleet with the addition of two new boats, the «Llop de Mar» and the «Indiketa», the latter named after the Inikets, ancient inhabitants of the Empordà region. They are also traditional llaüts from the 70s and 80s. Now, they will have a second life in the Mar d'Amunt, the northern side of Cap de Creus, where they will spend most of their days taking people on tours along the beautiful coast that the park has to offer. -
2024
The Crew Grows
The Pirates are growing in number, and our formidable crew now includes Blackbeard, Redbeard, Pinkbeard, and Guybeard. All of them make up an extremely fun team dedicated to the project, ready to help you experience unforgettable moments.
We successfully joined the CETS (European Charter for Sustainable Tourism), and we couldn't be happier to be a part of this moving adventure.
Our visitors continue to enjoy authentic sailing with the Pirates, a trip where you will not only contemplate the spectacular landscapes of Cap de Creus, but also immerse yourselves in the stories and legends that surround our coast and culture. With every outing, our crew strives to share their knowledge and passion for the region, making each excursion a unique and surprise-filled adventure. -
2025
La Rauxa arrives in Roses!
As the Pirates of Cap de Creus project undergoes a major expansion, we're facing a new and exciting challenge: to establish ourselves on the south side of Cap de Creus, the area known as Mar d'Avall. For this new adventure, we introduce our latest addition: LA RAUXA. This magnificent vessel, moored in Roses, will be responsible for taking all those who dare to discover the most secluded spots and the most idyllic coves in this part of the Natural Park.
As always with The Pirates, the only thing we can promise is a lot of authenticity, fun, and an unparalleled experience to enjoy our beloved Cap de Creus with respect.

CALA JUGADORA - The waves crash with force and the sun burns
Blackbeard is the pirates’ ardent heart. An innate leader, he is the force that makes the crew’s blood boil; the flame of a lantern in the dark. He is passion, initiative, and risk. His energy inspires and drives those around him. Always the first to board, always with his gaze fixed on the horizon.
WATER
Miki - Barba-Mec
CALA FREDOSA - Calm and deep waters
Barba-Mec sails with his heart, not with a compass. Apparently calm, he is a sea of subtle strength. He is a confidant, a healer, and a sailor with a liquid soul. He is connected to the environment as if it were an extension of his own body; he knows how to read the wind, the waves, and the emotions of others. He is compassionate, serene, and prudent. He is the breeze that gently transforms and balances us.
EARTH
Martí - Barba-Roig
CALA TAVALLERA - Living rock
Barba-Roig is the root of the ship. He has a deep gaze that makes him understand the world as a system of connections: between people, nature, and time. Simple, resolute, and honest. He is the force that holds everything up, the bastion that protects. With hard hands and a noble heart, he is the silent protector of the crew and the environment, generously nourishing them with his practical wisdom and his endless patience.
WIND
Borja - Bar-Bailongo
CALA PRONA - Where the wind whispers stories
Bar-bailongo is improvisation and freedom. Agile and witty, he’s always two steps ahead. He lives with an overflowing curiosity and an infinite interest in everything that surrounds him. He alone transforms every trip into a great adventure. He never stays still, for he knows that life is movement. He exudes a lightness that dissolves tensions with a single joke, and he is the joy of the crew.

CALA CULIP - An inexplicable presence
Barba-rossa doesn’t walk, he floats. He doesn’t speak, he resonates. He doesn’t set the course, he reveals it. He possesses an ancient spirit, connected to the invisible rhythms of the world, to the winds that change without warning, and to the dreams of sailors. He knows paths that don’t appear on maps and speaks languages no one remembers. No one knows where he comes from, but everyone follows him. He makes the journey itself meaningful, beyond the destination.
Clean and Conscious Cap de Creus
Environmental Tasks
Enjoying Cap de Creus in all its immensity also includes being conscious and responsible towards the environment. That is why, from our crew and with the support of participants and collaborators in the project, we actively promote the care of our environment.
Our involvement goes beyond sailing. Every week, we organize beach cleanups where we collect all kinds of waste. But our task doesn’t end there: afterwards, we analyze and sort this waste for an educational purpose. We firmly believe in the power of awareness, which is why we use the collected objects to run workshops and activities with children and teenagers, teaching them the importance of keeping our environment clean and the effects of pollution. For a healthy, waste-free future and planet.
